Our Possible Sacred Outings

This is far too much beauty for us to capture it all in one trip!
From the options below, we will choose those that most inspire and/or are available as access to sites changes frequently.

Please note: We will NOT see all of these, but only a selection of them.

** A variety of temples including: **
– Śārikā-devī / Chakreshwarī on Hariparvat in Śrīnagar
Rājñī (Khīr Bhavānī) at Tulmul
Jwālā/Jvālāmukhī at Khrew/Khruv
Mārtaṇḍa Sun Temple

** Swami Lakshman Joo’s Ashram. **

** The cave into which Abhinavagupta is supposed to have disappeared. **

** The sanctuary where the rock on which the Shiva Sutras were revealed resides. **

** The area where Utpaladeva lived and wrote his transformative work. **

** A small village ShivaTemple where, lying on the ground, is a stone lingam. According to popular belief, if eleven people each put one finger underneath it and utter a sacred syllable repeatedly, they can effortlessly raise the heavy stone lingam. **

Appreciations from past India retreats

Traveling to India with Hareesh and the kula was such a uniquely positive experience. The organization by our local guide, Yusuf was flawless and we stayed at some great and very interesting hotels. The days were packed with visits to major temples and archeological sites as well as asana practice with Hannah and satsangs with Hareesh. I really appreciated the high level of engagement by Hareesh who gave us so many interesting talks on the bus in addition to the evening satsangs. An amazing and powerful experience that I will always treasure.

Aram T

This trip was absolutely wonderful! I learned so much about the culture: history, religion, society, yoga, music. The food was fabulous, and the accommodations were excellent. Our group was well cared for the entire time. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I am so grateful for.

Jamie C

The sacred pilgrimage to Tamil Nadu with Hareesh far exceeded all of my wildest expectations. From the deep moments of worship in the temples to the sweet moments of satsang and kindred community we were able to experience India reverently and authentically, and Hareesh’s vast depth and breadth of knowledge added such richness to our time together. Thanks to the masterful facilitation by Hareesh and the team at TI, I fell in love with India and its history, culture, and divinity. This trip has changed my life in many ways, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Rachel B

This trip was fun and profound–Hareesh and his staff led an awesome journey on all levels–traveling through the real India and making contact with the deep spirit of India, her people and ourselves. The food and accommodations were great and the yoga and tantrik teachings were excellent.
